1. Who we are

WorkBenchData (“we”, “us”) operates the WorkBenchData career-benchmarking service. This policy explains what personal data we process and why.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: email, password hash, sign-in provider, timezone.
  • Professional profile: job title, company, city, function, sector, university, salary, currency, start/end dates.
  • Saved searches & alerts: keywords, region, sector, function, frequency, delivery channel.
  • Usage: token grants/spends, transactions, push-notification subscriptions, server logs.
  • Payments: Stripe customer ID and subscription status. We never receive your card number.

3. Why we process it

  • Provide the dashboard, benchmarks, and alerts you request.
  • Operate the token and subscription system.
  • Send alert emails and push notifications you have enabled.
  • Improve aggregate, anonymised statistics (e.g. average salary by role/region).
  • Comply with legal and security obligations.

4. Legal basis

We process your data on the basis of (a) the contract you have with us, (b) your consent for push notifications and marketing alerts, and (c) our legitimate interest in operating and securing the service.

5. Third parties

We share the minimum data needed with the following processors:

  • Supabase (Lovable Cloud) — database, authentication, hosting.
  • Adzuna, Careerjet, Reed, The Muse, USAJobs, France Travail — job listings; we send your search terms and region only.
  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Email provider (Resend) — sending alert and transactional emails.
  • Web Push services (Apple, Google, Mozilla) — delivering push notifications.

6. Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete all personally identifiable data within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregate statistics (e.g. salary counts by sector or region) may be retained indefinitely with no link to you.

7. Your rights

You can access, export, correct, or delete your data at any time from your profile page. You can also contact us to exercise GDPR/UK-GDPR/CCPA rights.

8. International transfers

Our processors may store data in the EU, UK, or US under appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent).
